Great Papa and Nana Darling came this past weekend to see us! We had a great time exploring more of Black River Falls. Check out more of our adventures on Flickr. Don't forget to check out Chris' blog to see a video clip of his awesome performance in Pirates of Penzance! I bet you won't recognize him. His own family didn't!

Lovin' my Snugli
Colin loves going for walks with Daddy in his Snugli! Thanks Aunt Sandee and Uncle Gary!
No temp
Alex wanted to practice with his doctor kit last week. And who's the perfect patient? The only one who can't get away! Check out Flickr for more pics of Colin's physical!

So proud!
I was so proud of my boy! He came out of his bedroom yesterday morning, " Momma, I wrote your name!" We've been working on his letters lately, but this is the first time he wrote my name without help! He's growing so unbelievably fast. Not only is he learning so much, I checked in on them the other night and had to do a double take. He's going to be even too big for his toddler bed soon!

Sweet, sweet sleep!
Three nights this week Colin has slept for at least one 7 hour stretch. On 2 of those nights, he slept for a couple more 2 two hour stretches after that. BUT last night he went back down at 2:30 and slept for another 4 hours! Only one of those nights did I actually get to sleep for most of the 7 hours because he went to bed at 10 pm. The other nights he went down at 8ish which was too early for me to go to bed too, so I still only got 4 hours of sleep at a time. But it's so much better than 2 hours at a time. As soon as Chris is done with his musical and is home in the evenings, I plan to head to bed with Colin at least a couple nights a week. He is also still sleeping in Alex's room and thankfully, doesn't wake Alex up with him.
It's a good thing we forget how hard the first couple of months with a newborn are or there would be a lot more single child families around.

Colin's doctor update
Colin weighed in today at 11 pounds 11 1/4 ounces and is 22 3/4 inches long. That puts him at the 50th percentile for both weight and length. His head circumference also measured in the 50th percentile. Whereas Alex has pretty much always been in the 90th percentiles, it's looking like Colin is going to be built a lot more like me and daddy. Colin also got his first 3 shots and didn't like it one bit. It's a good thing we didn't take Alex with us. When I told him Colin got 3 shots, he said, "I'm not going to let them hurt my brother anymore!" He probably would have gotten upset just watching.

2 months old
It's so hard to believe that my little guy is 2 months old already. He's definitely growing like a weed. Monday we get to go to the Dr. to see just how much, but I had to put away almost all of his 0-3 month outfits because he is getting so long. I know he is gaining weight too, but not as fast as the length. As you can see from the pic above, Athena has taken over his changing table as her bed. We have to pick her up to get her to move now. Pandora, our other cat, has taken up residence in the bassinet now that Colin has outgrown it.
The Pooh outfit is proof... it's the outfit we brought him home from the hospital in and we don't have to roll up the cuffs or roll down the waist anymore.
The blue outfit is a 3-6 month and as you can see, it fits him well!
