Colin has been sleeping in his bassinet for the past few weeks, but finally slept last night for a 5 1/2 hour stretch. It was wonderful! He's finally getting into a routine. Our love for him grows more and more each day as his personality begins to shine!
Alex survived his second set of stitches last week. Mommy almost didn't, though. It took 2 nurses and me to hold him down while the ER doc put them in. It took 2 nurses and Daddy to hold him down when he got them taken out yesterday. He hates being hurt and anticipates so much pain that he really works himself up before they even start. I was having some lab work done in the next waiting room over and could hear him screaming bloody murder.
Chris continues to send out applications and have interviews for a new job. We are praying that God will open the right doors and slam the other ones shut. He has been certainly meeting all our needs according to His riches! We give God all the glory!
I'm back to subbing part time and trying to keep up with everyone and everything going on. My faith is being stretched beyond my wildest dreams! No, I don't necessarily like the roller coaster we're on, but our testimony will be awesome on the other side of this whole adventure! Thanks for the prayers, keep them coming!

Checking out a Painted Turtle
Chris and Ray brought home a painted turtle from a geocaching adventure. It took Alex awhile to touch it but he finally did. He named it after Tuck, the turtle on Wonderpets. Then we released it in back of our apartment into the river.
Mason City, Iowa
We took Colin on his first trip over Memorial Day to Mason City, Iowa to visit Bill and Kristin. Both boys had a good time and it was refreshing to hang out with friends. Mason City is the home of the creator of the Music Man musical and they have a festival every Memorial Day to celebrate. They even have a huge parade loaded with marching bands from all over the state. I was in 7th heaven!
Motorcycle Mania
Alex has been wanting to "ride" Ray's motorcycle for quite a while now. He finally got his chance the other day after they set the turtle free. Don't worry Grandma Wilcox, he won't get one of his own for a very LOOOOOONG time!

In the past 2 weeks I have done a lot of crying, mostly from exhaustion. I've done a little laughing, thanks to my beautiful boys. And slowly, but surely, the clouds are rolling on by leaving God's peace knowing He has everything under control and doesn't need my help.
The most recent reason for laughing comes from Colin! On Saturday he graced us with some of his first real smiles. Daddy got them first, but I'll forgive him for that someday :) I haven't been able to get a very good pic yet, but I certainly plan to keep on trying.

1 month update
Well, as of yesterday Colin weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces. Which was a gain of almost a pound and a half in 2 weeks. Granted, he had his diaper on and a full belly, but that helped to put aside my worries about the spitting up he's been doing lately. Overall he continues to be a good baby, if only we could get back to sleeping more than 2 hours at a time at night! Alex continues to love his brother and is pretty helpful. I definitely appreciate the differences between them both.

Teaching my brother
Colin couldn't have a better big brother. I was hoping our children would be closer in age, but God knew what he was doing when he planned the 4 1/2 year age difference. Alex is a huge help and has shown very little jealousy toward Colin. The other night he started digging out some of his toys so he could teach Colin what to do when he was older. This is a pic of him showing Colin all about the Little Touch Leap Pad.
On a side note, we had a wonderful weekend with my parents last weekend. Alex and Colin both loved all the fun and cuddle time they got with Papa and Grandma Wilcox. We are very thankful for the help both of our families have given us since Colin was born. Please check out the new Flickr pics. I'll post more when I get them from my parents.
