Colin learned how to walk behind his walker this past weekend. He isn't all that interested in walking by holding onto our hands or cruising the furniture yet, but he sure does love pushing the walker.

Easter Pics
Although it hasn't yet been 365 days, a year ago at this time I was wondering if this little guy was ever going to make his entrance into our world. I went into labor around 5:30 the day after Easter. Thus giving us a "day after Easter" baby and a "day after Halloween" baby. And although Easter changes every year, it will a spot in time that I will always remember. Happy First Easter, Colin!

Standing
Last Sunday night I came out of the computer room to find Colin standing by the couch. It took some coaxing to get him to do it again for the video, hence the piece of chocolate chip cookie you'll see him reaching for. This of course presents the ever lovely problem of getting up in the middle of the night and walking into his room to find him standing in his crib... not wanting to lay back down on his own! The count down has begun until he turns one ... 3 weeks from Wednesday!

Twelvety Tooth
There's a part in the Veggie Tales "Lord of the Beans" movie where one of the characters says, "Today is my twelvety twooth birthday!" And that has always stuck with me for some weird reason. Although Colin doesn't have 122 teeth, to me it sounds cool to say he cut his "twelvety tooth" over the weekend.
He also learned how to pull himself up to a standing position. Granted he will only do it to try to get a bit of a cookie or the remote, but he did it! I have a video I'll post later.

Alexisms
Alex has said some hilarious things lately, but I can only remember 4 right now.
"I have a chicken egg on my head." (He got a goose egg when he tried to climb over the baby gate and hit the back of his head on the door frame.)
"Mom, can I have some more dog chips?" (aka puppy chow on New Year's Eve)
"Can I have some cream cheese, please? You know the kind with the little balls?" (aka cottage cheese)
"I want skrinkled eggs, not big eggs." (aka scrambled and hard boiled eggs)
He's also been riddling away with Chris on the way to the sitter in the morning. I'm so glad that he is thinking critically already! After working with kids with learning disabilities and mild mental handicaps all day, it's refreshing to hear him processing and comprehending so much. The best riddle he's given was this morning. "What's black and has yellow stripes and yellow rectangles?" It stumped Chris for a bit until Alex added this clue, "You drive on it!" I probably would have never gotten it without that final clue. It's pretty bad when you get stumped by a 5 year old.
At least today I had a good excuse for my mental handicap. Chris and I were running on about 3 hours of sleep today because Colin decided last night was the time to cut his 3rd molar (11 teeth total - one for each month. He'll be 11 months on Sat.) He pretty much screamed and threw a fit all night. Needless to say, I'm heading to bed as soon as the boys are tucked in and we're making sure the Tylenol is nearby in case the other one decides to appear!

Drummer Boys
This is a video of the boys having fun together. Colin had to make sure the Wiggles guitar and the drum were going at the same time.
Pet Sitting
We are pet sitting Flash's pet parrot, Mora, for ten days while Flash is on vacation. She is 5 years old, and unlike Superman's baby parrot, Mora can fly. That is a great thing because then we don't have to go up and down the stairs to get her when it is time to leave. We can just make the parrot call and she comes flying. We are also watching his cat and dog but they don't have names and are much less interesting.
Alex has also been practicing every sport imaginable for the competition. We were listening to WBAT (a local radio station) which was broadcasting the Eagles game and Alex took it from there. The Superheroes are the Eagles and his Mystery Detective Friends (which include Blue from Blues Clues) are the Goats. During practice Friday night, the Goats were in the lead. GO GOATS!
